TOPOGRAPHY RULER

Line.
Life forming a line. A string of footprints – a path. Dots connecting places.

Traced through the topography – up, down, sidewise, looping, and winding.

The scholars scored by hand, using a pen knife and a ruler when forming lines on the
parchment. These lines became guides, shaping and ensuring borders.

Unlike nature, the ruled line is perfectly straight inscribed into the ground surface.

Topographiʹa;
Greek toʹpos – ’place’ and ´graph´ia – `grafic´.

The topography folding rulers depicts the landscape formations around my domocile.

The topopgraphy transitioned into stylised boundaries of flat vaguely undulating fields, interrupted by pebble ridges, drumlines and shallow streams.
